General development plan of Ulaanbaatar until 2040 under discussion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. An extended
meeting of the Urban Construction and Infrastructure Committee of the Citizens’
Representative Khural (city council) took place on November 10 and discussed draft of the general development plan of Ulaanbaatar city until 2040.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Architect of the capital city and
Head of the Construction and Urban Development Department Ts.Tulga introduced
the plan draft, which included suggestions of public servants, scientists researchers and citizens.
More than 32 thousand citizens have sent their suggestions for the plan.
Most of the suggestions covered issues of making engineering infrastructure accessible to
households of ger areas, building more construction, increasing
accessibility of public service including kindergarten, schools, health, culture,
and sport, increasing parking spots, introducing waste separation system, expanding possibility
of living in apartment, creating more job opportunities, reducing environment
pollution and developing satellite towns and villages.
