Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the traditional Mongolian celebration of Lunar New Year – Tsagaan Sar, President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene, and Speaker of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar extended greetings to the citizens of Mongolia.

In his speech, President said:

“ Tsagaan Sar is the New Year for the Mongolian people and the beginning of spring. Tsagaan Sar is a highly respected holiday by the Mongolian nation, which includes many aspects of Mongolian customs and traditions inherited from the Khunnu Empire. In the upcoming Year of the Water Tiger, Mongolia will celebrate the 860th anniversary of birth of Chinggis Khaan, the founder of the Great Mongol Empire.

Despite the difficult situation with the Covid-19 pandemic facing the whole world, I am sure that in the upcoming year there will be a lot of positive changes in our country, with the joint efforts of our people, we will return to our normal way of life.

I would like to extend my greetings to our herders who carry a thousand-year-old nomadic civilization, brave frontier guards, peacekeepers, medical workers, soldiers and policemen protecting the health of citizens and the country.

I wish all the citizens of Mongolia happiness, success, health, long life, peace and prosperity in the New Year!"
