Mongolia’s Ambassador presents credentials to UNFAO Director-General

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Ambassador Ts.Narantungalag presented
the Letter of Credence to Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on March 24 in
Rome, Italy accrediting her as the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the
FAO.
Following the presentation of Letter of Credence,
Ambassador, Permanent Representative Ts.Narantungalag and Director General Dr.
Qu Dongyu held discussions on the cooperation between Mongolia and the UNFAO as
highlighting the importance of existing projects and programs in Mongolia’s
food and agricultural sector through FAO and to further strengthen
collaboration in the fields of safeguarding and vaccination of livestock,
capacity building in veterinary organizations, as well as digitalizing of
agricultural commodity exchange.
Director-General Dr. Qu Dongyu reiterated his continued
commitment to fully support Mongolia. The sides also exchanged views on possibilities
of cooperation in the framework of the national campaign to plant a billion
trees at the initiative of H.E.Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia.
Moreover, they underscored the importance of the resolution on ‘International
Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, 2026’ adopted by the 76th Session of
the UN General Assembly.
