Mongolia, Kazakhstan hold inter-ministerial consultative meeting
PoliticsA consultative meeting was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Nur-Sultan on May 31.
During the consultative meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Munkhjin and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan R.Vassilenko exchanged views on the current political, social, and economic situation in the respective countries, ways to intensify relations and cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The meeting also touched on the possibility of diversifying Mongolia's foreign trade market, food security, including the supply of key products that may be in short supply on the world market, and regional transport and logistics cooperation aimed at supporting the post-pandemic economic recovery. Moreover, the sides discussed ways to intensify cooperation and develop mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with countries in the region.
On
the sidelines of the consultative meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister B.Munkhjin
met with First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan
E.E.Battakov.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of further expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, supporting cooperation between banks and financial institutions, and addressing obstacles to bilateral trade, transportation, and logistics.
Following
the meeting, the Deputy Minister held a meeting with Executive Director of the
Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measure in
Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay.
Within the framework of the organization, the issues of implementing Mongolia's foreign policy objectives and using the mechanism of multilateral cooperation to jointly overcome the challenges facing the region were discussed in detail.
