Deputy Prime Minister meets Australian Foreign Minister

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia
S.Amarsaikhan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Penny Wong and
exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Emphasizing the 50th anniversary of the establishment
of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Australia which is being marked these days, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan
expressed satisfaction with the successful development of friendly relations
between the two countries in many areas, including education, mining,
agriculture, and energy. He also stressed the Government of Mongolia’s commitment to promoting cooperation
between the parties on a wider scale on a mutually beneficial basis and bringing bilateral relations to a new level
within the framework of the ‘New Revival Policy’.
For her part, Foreign Minister Penny
Wong expressed gratitude for the working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister on
the days of the historic anniversary and the latter's commitment to the development of
bilateral relations. She also noted that the Oyu Tolgoi project,
implemented by the Rio Tinto company with the Government of Mongolia, is of
great importance for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation
between the two countries.
