Recipients of President’s Scholarship Depart to Study Abroad

/MONTSAME/. The students who were awarded the “President’s Scholar-2100”
scholarship program and participated in preparatory programs at the National University
of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology departed yesterday from Mongolia to study at foreign
universities.
This year, 256 scholarship recipients have been selected to study at universities in 13 countries such
as Great Britain, the United Kingdom of Northern Ireland, Canada, the Republic
of Poland, the Commonwealth of Australia, the People’s Republic of China, the
Russian Federation, Hungary, the Republic of India, and the Socialist Republic
of Vietnam.
President U. Khurelsukh participated in the farewell
ceremony, congratulating and
wishing the recipients of the scholarship
program success in their studies. In his speech, he noted that outgoing young
students to study in a farness country are national leaders who will get global
education and work for the development and welfare of their country. He also
entrusted them to gain a favorable reputation for their country and the value
of Mongolian people in foreign countries and to love, help, support, and
respect each other.
The President of
Mongolia, U. Khurelsukh, issued a decree to increase the competitiveness of
Mongolians in the world, provide equal opportunities for children and youth to
study, and support them to study at the world's best universities. In compliance with this,
the “President’s Scholar-2100” scholarship
program has been implemented since 2021, selecting the best students from each of the 330 soums
and khoroos to study at the world’s best universities.
The students who have completed at least three years of study
in their affiliated district school and have the highest average score in the
General Entrance Examination in mathematics and foreign languages are eligible to participate in the
program. The recipients of the
scholarship are prepared to meet the criteria.
The “President’s Scholar-2100” scholarship program is a comprehensive program that selects the
best students from each district and
khoroo, prepares them to meet the conditions for studying at the best foreign
universities and colleges, and then assigns them to work for the development of their local areas upon
graduation.
Besides general academic and foreign language courses,
the students also learned communication and writing skills as part of the
preparatory program and participated in the mentorship program.
Minister
of Education and Science L. Enkh-Amgalan, Advisor to the President of Mongolia
on Education, Science and Technology Policy Ch. Lodoiravsal and Deputy Head of
the Office of the President of Mongolia A. Uilstuguldur were also present at the farewell ceremony.
