Mongolian Boxer to Fight for Bronze Medal

Ulaanbaatar, March 21, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The 2023 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships is being held in New Delhi, India from March 15 until March 26, 2023. Medal winners will be awarded prize money, such as gold medallists will earn USD 100 thousand, silver medallists USD 50 thousand, and bronze medallists USD 25 thousand. The overall prize fund is USD 2.4 million. 


The IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships gave a warm welcome to athletes from 65 nations from all five continents. 

From Mongolia, M. Enkhjargal (54 kg) has qualified to cruise to the bronze medal bouts of the championships after beating Tatiana Chagas with a score of 4:1. At the first round down, M. Enkhjargal staged a stunning comeback. Tomorrow (March 22), she will fight against an Italian boxer. 



 Eight Mongolian boxers, participating in IBA Women's World Boxing Championships are as follows: 


-In the 48 kg category, L. Altantsetseg conquered the French boxer in the final 32.  

-In the 50 kg category, B. Mungunsaran qualified for the final 32 after defeating the Turkish boxer and ended the championships by losing to the Spanish boxer in the final 32. 

- In the 50 kg category, M. Namuun lost to a boxer from South Colombia.  

-In the 52 kg category, O. Yesugen defeated the Thai boxer and qualified for the quarterfinals after defeating the boxer from Mozambique in the round of 16. 

- In the 54 kg category, M. Enkhjargal defeated the Vietnamese boxer, beat the Moroccan boxer in the final 32, defeated the Brazilian boxer in the round of 16, and qualified for the quarterfinals. 

-In the 60 kg category, T. Nomin-Erdene lost to a Japanese boxer. 

-In the 66 kg category, M. Tsetsegdari conquered the Japanese boxer in the final 32.
