"Ulaanbaatar-2023" World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Successfully Wraps Up

Jiu-Jitsu Championship successfully took place at Steppe Arena in Ulaanbaatar,
the capital city of Mongolia on July 15-20.
In the "Ulaanbaatar-2023" World Championship, over 500
athletes from 41 countries competed including, Mongolia, Algeria, Bangladesh,
Belgium, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Germany, Congo, Portugal, Colombia,
France, Italy, Greece, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, South Korea, Bahrain,
Philippines, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Thailand, Denmark, Montenegro, Slovenia,
Serbia, Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sweden,
Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, USA and Vietnam.
A total of 34 referees from 26 countries worked at the 20th Jiu-Jitsu World
Championship, one of which was an International "B" class
referee from Mongolia Munkh Timurtogoo, a jiu-jitsu black belt athlete.
The prestigious tournament, which was organized for the first
time in Mongolia, began with the masters' category. Athletes from 16 countries won medals in this
category, while Mongolian athletes took the lead with 10 gold, 13 silver and 13
bronze medals.
On the fourth day of the "Ulaanbaatar-2023" Jiu-Jitsu
World Championship, Mongolian athletes B. Hulan won a bronze medal in the
women's -70 kg category, and M. Sugar won a bronze medal in the Ne-Waza
category.
On July 20, the last day of the Championship, Mongolian
athlete E. Batbold grabbed the gold medal in the para category.
To wrap up, at the Jiu Jitsu World Championship held in
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolian athletes won 10 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze medals in
the Masters category, 1 gold medal in the para category, 2 bronze medals in the
adult category, and 4 athletes took the 5th place.
The UAE team won 8 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals, taking the lead in the team standings.
