Ulaanbaatar, September 28, 2023 /MONTSAME/. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous Mongolian painter Jamsran Tserendorj, a majestic artwork exhibition, "Atgakhan Chuluunii Une Tsene" [“Value of a Tiny Stone”], opened at the National Art Gallery of Mongolia on September 28, 2023.

The exhibition aims to develop Mongolian fine arts and promote the wonders of Mongolian arts to future generations. It will be open until October 8, 2023.

Painter Ts. Jamsran, born in Tuv aimag in 1923, depicted Mongolia's development, revolution, and history, as well as the pristine beauty of nature in his paintings, skillfully using the traditional Mongolian painting style and satirical techniques. Over 40 percent of his work reflects the construction and industrialization of Darkhan City, one of the major industrial centers in Mongolia.

Jamsran left an indelible mark on contemporary art of Mongolia. His works would continue to captivate and astonish viewers, leaving a lasting impression on those who admire his creations. A versatile artist, Jamsran mastered European painting styles, such as Socialist realism, and various forms of decorative arts. He blended these methods to create unique characters and compositions that are instantly recognizable as his own.

The National Art Gallery of Mongolia houses a vast collection of over four thousand contemporary Mongolian artworks, yet only several pieces of these treasures are on display at this time.
