Mongolian-German Education Cooperation to Be in Focus in 2024

Ulaanbaatar, October 9, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Helmut Rudolf Kulitz.
The Minister L.Enkh-Amgalan thanked Germany for maintaining long-term close cooperation in the education sector. The Minister emphasized the success of projects implemented in cooperation with Germany in the field of technical and vocational education, which has been developing rapidly in recent years. He noted that as part of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries the Government of Mongolia is to declare 2024 as the Mongolian-German Education Cooperation Year.
Presently, the “Partnership-based Technical and Vocational Education and Training” and the “German-Mongolian Institute for Resource and Technology (GMIT)” projects supported by the Federal Republic of Germany are under implementation, and according to the agreement on development cooperation between Mongolia and Germany established this September the abovementioned two projects will continue until 2026.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on cooperating on the “President’s Scholarship-2100” programme and training 1,000 engineers in Germany initiated by the Prime Minister of Mongolia as well as organizing the Saxony Education Day Fair this November in Ulaanbaatar jointly by the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia.
