Over Two Million Pages of Sutras Digitalized

Ulaanbaatar, November 22, 2023 /MONTSAME. The National Library of Mongolia (NLM), the largest and oldest library in the country houses over three million books and publications. Over one million volumes of the collection, in the Mongolian, Tibetan, Chinese, and Manchu languages are rare and valuable books, sutras, and manuscripts of critical significance.
Since 2018, over 2 million pages of sutras in Tibetan language have been digitalized as a result of a project jointly implemented by NLM and the Asian Legacy Library.
The progress of the ongoing project at NLM was introduced on November 23 at NLM, sharing the technology and experiences of the operation.
