Foreign Minister of Mongolia and UK Foreign Secretary Hold Official Talks

Ulaanbaatar, April 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Cameron is paying an official visit to Mongolia on April 25-26, 2024.


Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom David Cameron held official talks on April 25, 2024.


During the talks, the two sides expressed eagerness to consolidate the achievements of the past 60 years of cooperation, elevate the level of Mongolia-UK relations, and foster mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas.


The two sides held comprehensive discussions on bilateral relations between Mongolia and the United Kingdom and agreed to expand cooperation in trade, economy, culture, education, tourism, digital governance, and geology.


Also, the two Foreign Ministers exchanged views on exploring avenues for cooperation aligned with the objectives of Mongolia's long-term development policies "Vision-2050" and "New Revival Policy," as well as the objectives of the "One Billion Trees" National Campaign.


During the visit, Mongolia and the UK signed a number of cooperation documents.

The Foreign Minister of Mongolia and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland signed a “Joint Cooperation Roadmap towards a Comprehensive Partnership.”


Also, the Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Rare Metals between the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom.


The Director of the National Geological Survey of Mongolia and the Director of the British Geological Survey signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Geological Science and Technological Cooperation between the National Geological Survey of Mongolia and the British Geological Survey.
