Presidents of Mongolia and Belarus Underscore Commitments to Deepening Relations

Ulaanbaatar, June 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko is paying a State Visit to Mongolia on June 1-4, 2024. The two Heads of State held a press briefing on the results of their official talks.
The Presidents expressed their delight with the Agreement on Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Belarus signed during the first State Visit by the Head of State of the Republic of Belarus since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, strengthening the traditional friendly relations.
The parties confirmed their commitments
to deepening relations and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade,
education, science, environment, and humanity.
During
the State Visit, the parties discussed implementing mutually beneficial
projects and programs aimed at strengthening the achievements in the relations
and cooperation and enriching them with economic content. The Heads of State
noted that agreements, cooperation roadmaps, and documents signed during the State
Visit on cooperation in the fields of law, agriculture, education, science,
environment, tourism, emergency, intellectual property as well as the business
forum will make a significant contribution to the expansion and development of
relations and cooperation of the two countries. The Presidents expressed confidence
that the Governments of the two countries and relevant agencies would work actively
following the agreements reached during the State Visit and achieve tangible results.
H.E. President Khurelsukh pointed out that Mongolia was one of
the first countries to recognize the independence and sovereignty of the
Republic of Belarus in 1991. It was also noted that Belarusian specialists made
a valuable contribution to the construction of factories, plants, apartments,
schools, kindergartens, cultural buildings, and cities and towns such as
Erdenet, Darkhan, Nalaikh, Baganur, and Shariin Gol.
H.E. President Lukashenko said that Mongolia's foreign
policy and the pragmatic approach to its implementation are close and comprehensible
to us, and emphasized that there are no difficulties or misunderstandings in
the relations between the two countries. Expressing the country’s interest in
long-term mutually beneficial cooperation further, President A. G. Lukashenko invited
President Khurelsukh to pay a state visit to the Republic of Belarus.
