The 2024 State Great Khural Election of Mongolia: Voter Turnout Reaches 69.3 Percent

 Ulaanbaatar, June 28, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The polls of the 2024 regular election of the State Great Khural of Mongolia closed at 8 pm.


Chairman of the General Election Commission (GEC) of Mongolia Delgernaran said “ The voter turnout reached 69.3 percent nationwide. However, the turnout will grow as the votes of Mongolian citizens abroad are being counted currently. In addition the turnout of the last two hours at the polling stations that not connected to the network  will be added. Therefore, the voter turnout nationwide will reach 70 percent.”

 

Moreover, GEC Chairman noted that even though some incidents of violations of election laws were reported no serious violations occurred during the 15-hour-polling.  “There are no complaints that have not been resolved by the GEC."

 

Voting for the parliamentary elections started at 7:00 this morning. Currently, the results of the voting are being compiled.
