Mongolian Government's 2024-2028 Action Program to be Submitted to Parliament

Ulaanbaatar, August 8, 2024 /MONTSAME/. On August 7, 2024, the Cabinet of Mongolia discussed a total of 20 issues, including a draft of the Joint Government Agreement of Mongolia, a draft Resolution of the Parliament on Approval of the Mongolian Government's 2024-2028 Action Program, and draft amendments to the Law on State Budget. Regarding the abovementioned issues, Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Mongolia Uchral Nyam-Osor said, “Under the Government of Mongolia's Action Program for 2024-2028, we are taking opinions from ministries, NGOs, and professional associations. We have met with members of parliament elected from zonal constituencies, the members elected from the capital, and those elected by the list separately."


This Government's Action Program will be based on the Joint Government Agreement of Mongolia and will be a program that its implementation could be assessed. All parties in the Parliament of Mongolia will be contractually obligated, noted the Head of the Cabinet Secretariat.


The first chapter of the Government’s Action Program targets regional development policy, including 15 specific mega projects. The second chapter includes human development policies in three areas: education, health, and employment. The third chapter reflects intersectoral coordination regarding how housing, health, and education policies are be implemented in connection with the implementation of the Law on Sovereign Wealth Fund. The fourth chapter will discuss the creation of an inclusive economy. The fifth chapter focuses on activities towards an inclusive and streamlined government. 


"A group from the Government of Mongolia worked in Germany recently. Since 1949, the Coalition Government has been operating in Germany. The report of the group was presented at the Cabinet Meeting. The Cabinet decided that the draft of the Government Action Program and budget adjustments should be finalized and submitted to the State Great Khural of Mongolia next Monday," Mr. Uchral said.
