Mongolia Hosts the 27th Conference of the Asian Science Park Association

The Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications of Mongolia, the National Information Technology Park of Mongolia, and the Science Park Administration of Mongolia jointly hosted the 27th Annual Conference of the Asian Science Park Association (ASPA) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on August 19-21, 2024.
It was an honor and a great responsibility for Mongolia to organize the Annual Conference of the ASPA, which serves as a platform to reflect on the achievements of the science and technology sector, define its future directions at the regional level, and expand cooperation among member states. This year, over 200 representatives from 11 Asian countries attended the Conference. Presentations and discussions focused on the “Role and Impact of Science Technology Parks for Regional Development.”
At the 42nd ASPA Board Meeting held during the Conference, Zolzaya Jargalsaikhan, Director of the National Information Technology Park of Mongolia, was approved as a member of the Association's Board. This appointment is highly significant for advancing the development of Mongolia's IT industry, as it will serve as a bridge for Mongolian innovation and technology businesses to enter the Asian market. The National Information Technology Park of Mongolia became an ASPA member in 2012 and hosted the 32nd ASPA Board Meeting in Mongolia in 2014.
The ASPA is a non-governmental organization established to promote the development and cooperation of science parks, technology parks, and business incubators in the Asia-Pacific region. The Association aims at fostering innovation, economic development, and technological advancement by providing a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking among its members.
