Prime Minister of Mongolia Meets Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
PoliticsRiyadh, December 4, 2024 /MONTSAME/. During his working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai took part in the 16th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP 16).
Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, to engage in discussions regarding bilateral relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Saudi Arabia.
The Mongolian Premier congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on successfully hosting the 16th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification and underlined Mongolia’s commitment to the Conference, especially as the designated host country of UNCCD COP 17.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene presented the 2024-2028 Action Program of the Government of Mongolia, emphasizing the relevance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in renewable energy, critical mineral resources, urban development, agriculture, and environmental protection.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing relations and cooperation with Mongolia across all sectors and expressed willingness to contribute to the development of Mongolia. The two sides also agreed to collaborate on organizing the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNCCD to take place in Mongolia in 2026.
