Ulaanbaatar, July 22, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia marks the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the General Executive Agency of Court Decisions, observed nationwide as the Day of Court Decision Enforcement Personnel, on July 22, 2025.
By resolution issued by the Government of Mongolia on June 29, 2022, this day has been officially declared to be commemorated annually on July 22, in line with the founding timeline and historical development of the state’s special‑purpose military law enforcement service.
Following the victory of the People’s Revolution, at the joint meeting of the Central Committee of the People’s Party and the Provisional Government on July 10, 1921, a “Prison Unit” was created within the structure of the Ministry of Justice. This marked the institutional beginning of what is today the body of court decision enforcement. Since that time, generations of officers and personnel have contributed to upholding lawfulness and justice in Mongolia.
In its earliest years, the service carried out custodial sentences imposed on offenders who violated the revolutionary government’s laws and regulations. As the country developed and the institutional structure and operational scale changed within the framework of the ideologically and legally revised Constitution, the organization evolved into a state special‑purpose organization that professionally administers sentences, enforces other categories of court rulings, and contributes to national development and public service.
Today, the agency plays a critical role in ensuring the rule of law, implementing court decisions, and advancing the national enforcement system. In recognition of its service to the nation, the agency has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Military Merit and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor of Mongolia by a Decree issued by the President of Mongolia.
