Fukushiro Nukaga: “New Chapter Opened in Interparliamentary Cooperation”

Ulaanbaatar, July 31, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Fukushiro Nukaga held an official meeting on July 30, 2025.
At the outset of the
meeting, Speaker Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve emphasized that the State Great
Khural of Mongolia attaches great significance to deepening and developing
cooperation with Mongolia’s important “third neighbor” with common democratic
values and Special Strategic Partner Japan. Mr. Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve
expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their consistent
support in strengthening democracy and enhancing the sustainable development of
society and economy in Mongolia.
Furthermore, the
Speaker of the State Great Khural presented the newly constituted Parliament’s strategic
plan and the “Three Perfections” policy of legal and regulatory reform. Mr.
Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve highlighted that an initiative proposal is under
preparation to establish an advisory body under the Standing Committee on
Sustainable Development of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in connection
with the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United
Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) to be held in Mongolia, and
expressed his confidence that the Parliament of Japan will actively support this
initiative.
Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Fukushiro Nukaga noted that the State Visit paid by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito to Mongolia has further strengthened the bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as the friendship between the peoples of the two countries. Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga emphasized that Mongolia and Japan uphold common interests in the economic, diplomatic, and security sectors, and that the meeting opened a new chapter in bilateral interparliamentary cooperation.
