Mas-wrestling,
also known as ‘wooden
stick wrestling,'
is a traditional sport originating from the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic of the
Russian Federation. In the Sakha (Yakut) language, the word 'mas' means 'wooden stick.'
This sport has a history spanning hundreds of years and has long served as a
test of balance and physical strength among nomadic peoples.
