World champion G.Boldbaatar wins gold medal in Baku GS
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A 2014 World champion and State Honored Sportsman G.Boldbaatar captured gold medal in the Baku Judo Grand Slam which kicked off Friday in Azerbaijan.
On the first day of the tournament, Boldbaatar who competed in the men’s below 60 kg division defeated his opponents of Lebanon, Russia, Great Britain and Uzbekistan. In the finals, he beat a Japanese judoka Ryuju Nagayama. In this category, D.Amartuvshin took 5th place after being defeated by a British judoka Ashley KcKenzie at the bronze medal bout.
A State Honored Sportswoman M.Bundmaa captured a bronze medal in the women’s -52 kg contest after she beat Miranda Erika from Brazil in the 3rd place bout.
Mongolia is currently ranked 5th place among 21 medal-winning countries at the competition.
