Mongolian artist attends world’s largest Khuumei Festival

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In Kyzyl, the capital city of the Tuva Republic of Russia, “Khoomei in the center of Asia” international festival was held for three days and conclude on August 19. Throat singers from Russia, China, Mongolia, USA, Finland, France and Japan gathered for the festival. Representing Mongolia, artist, head of the World Khuumei Association D.Khosbayar attended the festival.
The largest festival of khuumei or throat singing in the world, the event is organized every two years bringing together the best khuumei artists around the world. This year, the festival coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Alash, a throat singing band from Tuva.
