Ulaanbaatar, April 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The "Silk Way" International Rally that traverses the territories of Mongolia, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, and the Republic of Kazakhstan, will be held for the third time in July 2025.

The Rally will commence on July 12, 2025, with competitors embarking from Ulan-Ude toward Ulaanbaatar, crossing the international border between Mongolia and the Russian Federation. The course will then traverse through Ulaanbaatar City, Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, and Khovd aimags, before reaching the finishing line in Gorno-Altaysk, a town in Russia with an elevation of 2,500 meters above sea level. Covering a total distance of 5,500 kilometers, the rally includes 2,500 kilometers of asphalt roads.

This year, racers from Mongolia will promote the "Go Mongolia" National Brand, which was developed under the strategy to advertise Mongolia's national values, heritage, and aspirations. Organizers of the Rally highlighted that the unique natural landscape of Mongolia is most suitable for the thrilling race.

The "Silk Way" Rally will be important in developing tourism, cultural, and humanities relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation, strengthening the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries, and promoting Mongolia on the international stage. Therefore, the Working Groups were advised to ensure coordination, preparations, and pay special attention to the safety of the rally racers.

The "Silk Way" Rally has been held since 2009. Last year, over 100 athletes from 20 countries competed in the Rally, and over 200 million viewers watched the live broadcast of the race.
