Altjin Wins Bronze at World Wrestling Championships

Ulaanbaatar, September 18, 2025/MONTSAME/. International Master of Sports Altjin Togtokh won the bronze medal in the women’s 59 kg division at the 2025 Senior World Wrestling Championships, held in Zagreb, the Republic of Croatia. This win marked the 81st medal overall and 35th for women in Mongolia’s freestyle wrestling history.
After defeating wrestlers from the Republic of Kazakhstan in the round of 16 and the Federal Republic of Germany in the quarterfinals, Mongolian wrestler Altjin Togtokh lost to Japan’s Sakura Onishi in the semifinals. On September 16, 2025, she faced European Champion Anastasiia Sidelnikova of the Russian Federation competing under the United World Wrestling in a bronze medal match, and with a score of 6:4, became a world medalist. Altjin is the niece of L. Tserentogtokh, a Nachin-titled wrestler from Tsogt soum of Gobi-Altai aimag. By winning bronze, she brought the first medal for the Mongolian women’s team at the 2025 World Championships.
