Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai: Zamiin-Uud Border Port Meets International Standards

Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai visited the ongoing construction of the passenger and cargo transport complex at the Zamiin-Uud border port on March 24, 2024. As part of the Port Revival initiative under the "New Revival Policy," the port has undergone extensive renovation and expansion to align with international standards. The total area has been expanded eightfold, accommodating a sevenfold increase in capacity for passenger cars and tripling the capacity for large cargo vehicles.The Prime Minister emphasized, “The primary objective of the "New Revival Policy" is to modernize the port infrastructure. Additionally, with the completion of the expansion and modernization of the Zamiin-Uud port, the main economic and trade gateway of Mongolia, it is now compliant with international standards. Previously, the Zamiin-Uud port handled approximately 900 passengers and 100 vehicles per hour. Now, following upgrades, these numbers have significantly risen to 5,000 passengers and 500 vehicles per hour. The port now operates 24 hours a day, with a capacity to serve up to 20,000 individuals daily, marking a substantial increase in its ability to handle passengers and goods.”
