Birth rate increases by 7.8 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first half of 2018, 38055 mothers delivered 38310 children (live births). Compared with the same period of the previous year, number of deliveries and live births increased by 7.8 percent respectively, and death increased by 770 or 9.9 percent.
 
Crude birth rate per 1000 population was 11.9, whereas crude death rate per 1000 population was 2.7, and the natural increase rate per 1000 population was 9.2. Compared with the same period of the previous year, crude birth rate per 1000 population was increased by 0.6 points, crude death rate by 0.2 point, and the natural increase rate by 0.4 point.

Crude birth rates per 1000 population in Ulaanbaatar city and Dornod, Orkhon, Khovd, Govisumber, Bayan-Ulgii aimags was higher by 0.1-2.3 point than the national average and lower by 0.2-5.8 points than the national average in other aimags.

Crude death rates per 1000 population in Uvs, Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Darkhan-Uul, Dornogovi, Dundgovi, Khuvsgul, Bayankhongor aimags was higher by 0.1-0.5 point than the national average and equal to the national average in Ulaanbaatar city and Bulgan aimag. Whereas crude death rates per 1000 population in other aimags was lower by 0.1-1.2 points than the national average.
 
The natural increase rates per 1000 population in Ulaanbaatar city and Dornod, Orkhon, Khovd, Bayan- Ulgii, Govisumber aimags was higher by 0.2-3.2 points than the national average and lower by 0.3-5.5 points in other aimags.
