Judo nat’l championship concluded
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 39th men’s and 24th women’s national championships for judo took place January 8-10 in the “Khangarid” sports club in Erdenet city.
It was co-organized by Mongolia’s Judo Federation (MJF), administration of Orkhon aimag, Judo Federation of Orkhon aimag and “Khangarid” club. This year’s events coincided with the 40th anniversary of Orkhon aimag and 20th anniversary of winning the bronze medal by a Mongolian judoka D.Narmandakh at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
On the first day of the championship, international master of sports and twice silver medalist of the Youth World Championships Ts.Tsogtbaatar won a gold medal in the men’s -60 kg match by defeating D.Amartuvshin, a silver medalist of the 2013 World Championships, at the finals. An IMS A.Batsuuri won the men’s -66kg contest by beating Yuuki Takakashi, a teacher at the Judo Academy of Mongolia.
N.Khadbaatar won a gold medal in the men’s -73kg contest, O.Uuganbaatar--in the men’s -81kg, L.Otgonbaatar--in the men’s -91kg, Kh.Tsogtgerel--in the men’s -100kg, B.Temuulen--in the men’s +100kg, E.Bazarragchaa--in the women’s -48kg, A.Tsolmon--in the women’s -52kg, D.Sumiya--in the women’s -57kg, D.Gankhaich--in the women’s 63kg, Ts.Naranjargal--in the women’s -70kg, and P.Lhamdegd--in the women’s -78kg.
The women’s team at the “Khilchin” club won the team competition against “Genco-2” team at the finals. Bronze medals went to the “Aldar” sports club and a team at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
