Top-10 Finish for WIM Enkhrii at 2025 World Youth Chess Championships

Ulaanbaatar, October 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 FIDE World Youth Chess Championships were held in Durrës, Albania, from October 3 to 16, 2025, bringing together over 800 young chess players from around the world in the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 categories.
Mongolia
was represented by six players, with Woman
International Master (WIM) Enkhrii Enkh-Amgalan delivering the
strongest performance for the Mongolian team.

- Girls U18 – WIM Enkhrii Enkh-Amgalan: 7.5 points – 6th place
- Girls

7.0 points – 23rd place

U18 – FIDE Master Kh. Ulziihishig:

- Girls
U16 – E. Odmaa: 6.0 points – 39th place
- Boys

Enkhrii’s
top-ten finish in the Girls U18 category
marks a significant achievement on the world stage and continues Mongolia’s
rising presence in international youth chess.
In
previous World Youth Championships, Mongolian chess players have achieved
notable success, including gold by Grandmaster Batsuren
Dambasuren in 2017, gold by Woman Grandmaster Munkhzul Turmunkh in 2022, bronze (2001)
and silver (2005) by International Master and Woman Grandmaster Munguntuul Batkhuyag, and bronze by Woman
Grandmaster Enkhtuul Altan-Ulzii in
2011.
At this year’s
championships, players from Singapore, China,
Russia, and Kazakhstan were among the top performers. Kazakhstan won the Boys U16 and U14 divisions, while Russia claimed gold in the Girls U16 and U14 categories.
