Mongolia sees off senior athletes to World Masters Games in New Zealand

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony to seeing off Mongolian athletes, who will be taking part in the World Masters Games 2017 to be held in Auckland, New Zealand on April 21-30, took place today, April 13, at the Central Sports Palace of Ulaanbaatar. This is the ninth edition of the World Masters Games and about 30 athletes of Mongolia will compete in 6 categories.

S.Chinbat, Head of physical culture and sport policy implementation department of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport, Ts.Sharavjamts, Head of the Department for Physical Culture and Sport, Ch.Naranbaatar, Director of physical culture and sport committee of Mongolian sports’ masters and other officials were in present at the farewell ceremony to wish success to the athletes in the tournament. The flag of the Mongolian national team to participate in the Games were given to B.Bolormaa, basketball player who will be competing in New Zealand.

The World Masters Games an international multi-sport event held every four years will be attended by over 28000 athletes from 165 countries in 28 sports. Mongolian athletes have been participating in the Games since 2003.
