Mongolia claims six medals from World Jiu-Jitsu Festival

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance to the “Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival 2017”, which is taking place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, “Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival – Adults & ParaJiu-Jitsu” championship concluded on April 14-15. With an impressive tally, contestants from Mongolia namely B.Batmunkh, A.Gantulkhuur, A.Munkhbat and B.Uugankhuu claimed 3 gold and 2 silver medals from the tournament.
Against the opponents from the United States, Brazil, Japan and Canada, B.Batmunkh claimed gold in the “Adult 56 kg” while A.Gantulkhuur won gold in the “Adult 69 kg” categories. In addition, A.Munkhbat claimed gold in the “Class 3” whereas B.Uugankhuu took home 2 silver medals from “Class 3” and “Para open #6” categories.
As a side note, “Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship” is taking place between April 16 and 17. Accordingly, B.Batkhishig won silver medal in the Female Juvenile 57kg.
In anticipation, Professional Championship of the festival is scheduled on April 18-22. Athletes of high caliber will be participating from Mongolia, expected to bring yet another magnificent result.
