International Children’s Games start

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Opening ceremony of the 7th International Children’s Games (ICG) took place last Saturday on the Chinggis Khaan Square, Ulaanbaatar.
Apart from the host country, the ICG is being participated by over 1,000 athletes of Russia and Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region of China, to compete in 11 events. This year’s Games added new events--futsal, taekwondo, tennis and some team competitions.
During the opening opening ceremony, Kh.Bakhytjan, head of the Section of Sports Policy Implementation at the Department of Physical Culture and Sport, said the very first Games was held 2009 in Ulaanbaatar with participation of 250 athletes competed in five events. “We have ensured preparation for the Games in accordance with international standards,” he underlined.
In frames of the ICG, the archery event is taking place in the National Archery Arena, boxing--in the Sports Palace of Khan-Uul district, volleyball--in the Sports Hall of the National University of Mongolia, judo and free-style wrestling--in the Sports complex of Songinokhairkhan district, basketball--in the Central Palace of Sports, taekwondo--in the “Avragch” sports club, tennis--in the “Baga tenger” complex, futsal--in the Futsal Palace, athletics--the National Stadium, and table tennis--in Central Palace of Mongolian Trade Unions.
