Police athletes collect 14 gold medals

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place on Sunday to welcome athletes who successfully competed in the 2017 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) concluded last week in Los Angeles, USA.

Chaired by Colonel Ch.Boldbaatar, deputy head of the General Police Department (GPD), our team claimed 14 gold, 12 silver and seven bronze medals in competitions of eight events--shooting, powerlifting, moto-sport, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, boxing, judo, jiujitsu and karate.

Furthermore, some athletes broke record in the World Police and Fire Games. Captain N.Bayarmaa, a coach of the “Khuch” sport club, set the WPFG record in bench press within powerlifting event of women’s 63 kg division of 30-39 ages. A lieutenant Sh.Altanbagana also set the Games’ record after lifting 482.5 kg in total--212.5 kg in bench press and 270 kg in deadlift.
