B.Erkhembayar grabs first medal from 2017 Universiade

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ B.Erkhembayar, an international master of sports, claimed a silver medal in the men’s -66 kg division of judo event held Tuesday at the 2017 Summer Universiade continuing in Taipei, Taiwan.
The silver medal became the first medal won by the national university team of Mongolia at the Summer Universiade in Taiwan.
Our judoka defeated a Kazakh rival at the semi-final, but then he was lost to An Baul, a World champion and silver medalist of the 2016 Olympics from South Korea, at the final.
Mongolian judokas are being coached at the ongoing Universiade by Kh.Tsagaanbaatar, a State Honored Sportsman and O.Bold-Erdene, a teacher of the Mongolian State University of Education.
