Olympic and World Champions arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Olympic and World Champions for shooting arrived Thursday in Mongolia to take part in an international tournament to be held on 17 September in Ulaanbaatar to pay respect to D.Munkhbayar, the Olympic double bronze medalist and two-time World champion.
The group of shooters included Maria Grozdeva of Bulgaria, a twice-Olympic champion, Yasna Sekarich of Serbia, an Olympic champion and three-time World Champion and Nina Salukwadze of Georgia, an Olympic champion and six-time World Champion. They will compete in the competitions at the invitation of Mongolian famous shooters D.Munkhbayar, O.Gundegmaa, Ts.Munkhzul, S-Sport NGO and Heads of Mongolian Sports’ Journalists Union.
On September 16-18, a photo exhibition will be organized in ‘Blue Mon” gallery to display the sport career and successes of D.Munkhbayar and O.Gundegmaa.
In the Barcelona 1992 Olympics, D.Munkhbayar won bronze medal in the women’s 25 meter pistol event. It was the first Olympic medal by Mongolian woman athlete. In the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, she won her second medal, representing Germany.
