Mongolia’s 3x3 basketball team claims bronze medal in Turkmenistan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian basketball team has won a bronze medal in the 3x3 basketball competition of the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games – Ashgabat 2017 continuing held in Turkmenistan.
The Mongolian team grabbed the medal after defeating team Kyrgyzstan by 22:11 in the bronze medal match. In previous games, Mongolia won Indonesia by 22:10 in the quarter-finals and then lost to Qatar by 15:14 in the semi-finals, thus landing the bronze medal match with Kyrgyzstan.
Before the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, the Mongolia’s basketball team won a gold medal at the 3rd Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship which took place on April 12-16 in Malaysia.
3x3 basketball was officially added to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
