Sports
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian wrestler has set a record of lifting a camel for five minutes in Bayankhongor aimag.
The record-setting event took place during a Camel Lifting Competition held among male participants of the Camel Festival, hosted by Bayanlig soum of Bayankhongor aimag on October 4-5.
More than 10 men challenged themselves in the contest, and Sh.Erdenebayar, soum’s Elephant (national wrestling title) and camel herder, outshined his contestants by lifting a camel weighing 300 kg for five minutes.
B.Munkhzul, MONTSAME correspondent in Bayankhongor aimag, reported that the 28-year-old wrestler would have stood still for more than five minutes if it were not for an ‘audience demand’. The spectators demanded that the camel be put down as the animal was beginning to kick after five minutes so as to prevent injuries.
