Mongolian team in 19th World Festival of Youth and Students

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian team, consisting of 50 young leaders, is now participating in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS), kicked off on October 15 in Sochi, Russia.

The Mongolian team is actively participating in sport competitions and cultural and creative events.

The 19th WFYS, being organized under an auspice of Russian President V. Putin, unites 50 thousand youth from more than 180 countries. The festival aims to consolidate international youth community, strengthen international ties, as well as promote international and intercultural cooperation.

The program of the WFYS 2017 also involves various platforms, including panel discussions and open lectures on topical issues of youth policy and international relations. Tentatively, key issues of the event will be: ‘Culture and globalization’, ‘Global economy’, ‘Knowledge economy’, ‘Public institutions’ development’, ‘Politics and international security’. The main agenda of the discussion program is to encompass the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations.

The WFYS will conclude on October 22.
