Mongolian taekwondo fighters become world champions

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Athlete Kh.Enkhtuya has become the first woman world champion in para taekwondo among Mongolians, winning gold medal in the London-2017, World Para Taekwondo Championships.
Around 260 athletes from a record-breaking 59 countries fought for World Championship titles in 14 medal events under the main competition format at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

A fighter Bolor-Erdene Ganbat won his third gold medal, opening the 2017 Championships as the current world No.1 in the men’s up to 61 kg K44. At the first-ever Para Taekwondo Asian Championships in 2015, G.Bolor-Erdene won gold medal and then he went on to capture the world title later that year. Ganbat has shown potential ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, where taekwondo will be making its Paralympic debut.
