Judoka G.Odbayar wins gold at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Judoka G.Odbayar won a gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, which took place in the United Arab Emirates on October 26-28.
In the finals of men’s -73 kg weight category, our judoka defeated his Russian opponent Musa Mogushkov to claim the gold medal.
“World bronze medalist Odbayar has now won four medals from his last four events and is arguably the form judoka in the weight category. Odbayar opposed European silver medalist Musa in the final and the Russian quickly fell behind to a waza-ari score,” the International Judo Federation wrote about the match.
Meanwhile, the President issued a decree to award the judoka a State Honored Athlete title on October 27.
Mongolia ranked 3rd at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam with two gold and one silver medals. Judoka O.Uuganbaatar won a silver medal in men’s -81 kg.
