New Year’s Tree lights up central square

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The New Year’s Tree on the central square was lit up on December 15, magnifying the festive atmosphere of the last month of 2017.
The ceremony to light up the 22-meter tree, decorated by ‘Gereltuuleg Chimeglel’ company, was complemented by cultural performances, fireworks and with the presence of Uvliin Uvgun, who can be understood as a Mongolian Santa Claus clad in white deel, and his accomplices Tsasan Ohid (Snow Girls).
Present to witness the New Year’s Tree lighting ceremony were Ulaanbaatar Mayor S.Batbold, Chairman of Citizen’s Representative Khural of the capital city S.Amarsaikhan, honorary citizens of Ulaanbaatar, government officials and spectators.
“The appearance of the capital city is continually being enhanced with the hard work of its residents. The Government and the city administration strive to make Ulaanbaatar a garbage and traffic jam-free city,” said Mayor S.Batbold, appreciating the joint efforts of maintenance workers, those working in construction, energy, business, army, police, emergency organization and the capital city residents.
