Ulaanbaatar, October 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, paid a working visit to the Central Military Hospital, Mongolia's oldest medical institution, on September 30, 2025.

Colonel B. Bolor-Erdene, Director-General and Chief Doctor of the hospital, together with relevant officials, presented the operations of the central hospital, outpatient clinic, Toxicology Emergency Centre, and field hospital.

The President and Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the hospital’s staff, who faithfully fulfil their duty of providing uninterrupted medical care and services not only to the general public but also to the personnel of the Armed Forces. President Khurelsukh also extended appreciation to the families who serve as their steadfast support, and wished them continued success.

It was noted that for the first time, the hospital has introduced intracoronary echo diagnostics and has successfully performed two kidney transplant surgeries from living donors. Plans to further localise advanced surgical procedures were highlighted as a significant achievement in safeguarding the health of both civilians and military personnel.

The President underscored that during the years of the pandemic, the hospital staff remained true to their oath and made invaluable contributions to the protection of citizens’ lives and health.

The Head of State also expressed appreciation for the hospital’s active participation in the three closely interconnected National Movements of Mongolia: “Healthy Mongolian,” “Billions of Trees,” and “Food Supply and Security.”

Looking ahead, the President called for further development in the training and retraining of medical staff, expanding international cooperation, and prioritising preventive healthcare over treatment after illness. He emphasised the importance of public enlightenment, including the promotion of physical education and sports as essential to national health.

The hospital encompasses the Toxicology Emergency National Centre, Command and Staff Unit, Medical Corps, Polyclinic, and Logistics and Supply Division.

It is distinguished nationwide for its provision of urgent medical assistance in cases of firearm and knife injuries, as well as various poisoning emergencies.

For 2025, the hospital has declared a “Year of Quality in Every Action, Attitude in Every Word,” dedicating efforts to enhancing the quality of its medical services.

More than 1,200 doctors and specialists from the Central Military Hospital have participated in United Nations peacekeeping operations, with Mongolian military contingents currently serving in the Republic of South Sudan and Lebanon.

The hospital’s personnel also represented Mongolia in international humanitarian efforts, including search, rescue, medical, and relief missions in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Türkiye.

The Central Military Hospital was established in 1921 at the initiative of Commander-in-Chief of the Army Sukhbaatar Damdin. Its doctors and staff took part in the Battles of Khalkhin Gol, the Liberation War, and the Western Border Conflict, honourably fulfilling the tasks assigned by the State, Government, and the Supreme Military Command. These included evacuating patients and the wounded from the front line, treating soldiers, setting up field hospitals, and providing stepwise medical care.
