Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Annual forum of Mongolian Academy of Sciences took place on January 25.
The Mongolian Academy of Sciences made achievements in directions of creating new knowledge, introducing scientific results in practice, promoting them to public, enlightening the society, and improving and strengthening research environment and infrastructure last year.

Nine discoveries were made in scientific sector of Mongolia in 2017, the academy reported. Specifically, archaeological excavation and research was conducted in Chikhertiin Zoo in Bayantsagaan soum, Tuv aimag and it brought forward chronology of remains dating back to Hunnu period by 200-300 years. Also R2032 lithium coin battery has been invented as a result of technological study on lithium-ion battery.
In the frame of the project to produce three types of natural origin preparations in one manufacturing procedure, oily cream ‘Bartazel’ was invented to cure various types of animal wounds. During the development process of this ointment, technologies of ‘Baragshun-EN’ preparation for treatment of pulpous injury and ‘Baragshunt’ nutrition supplement for animals were also developed and the products are already on sale.
A complex reseach work on vaccine against hoof-and-mouth disease and disinfection was carried out and it is estimated that vaccine production to meet domestic need could be performed with MNT 2 billion. if the vaccine is produced at home it will save MNT 2 billion a year. Mongolia purchases hoof-and-mouth disease vaccine worth of MNT 4-5 billion from Russia every year therfore If the vaccine is produced in the country significant amount of money can be saved.
