Nationwide Campaign Launched to Care for Planted Trees During Autumn
Society
Ulaanbaatar, October 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Office of the President of Mongolia, in collaboration with the Ecological Police Department and with the support of public and private organizations, NGOs, and individuals engaged in tree cultivation, has launched a nationwide advocacy campaign titled “Golden Autumn – Let’s Care for the Trees We Have Planted.”
This effort is part of the broader “Billions of Trees” National Movement, which is being implemented to restore degraded forests, establish green zones against desertification, land degradation, and soil erosion, and expand green spaces in urban and settlement areas.
This autumn, the focus shifts from planting to caring for, protecting,
and preparing young trees for the winter season. Organizers aim to engage the public by sharing
information and encouraging active participation in maintaining the trees
already planted.
Officials
noted that since the launch of the "Billions of Trees" movement,
approximately 114.6 million trees have
been planted across the country, and adequate reserves of seedlings and
saplings have been secured.
Initiated by the President of Mongolia, the “Billions of Trees” movement also serves a broader purpose: to raise awareness about the importance of forest restoration, water resource protection, and maintaining ecological balance in the face of global climate change. Since its launch, the national movement has organized each year campaigns with new themes and messages to raise public awareness and promote sustainable planting practices. These include:
2021 – "Right Tree, Right Care"
2022 – "Let’s Rebuild Nature"
2023 – "Plant Trees, Restore
Nature"
2024 – "Let Everyone Plant Trees"
and "Golden Autumn, Time to Plant Trees"
2025 – "Let’s Plant Trees in Our Yards."
