National amateur ice archery championships to be held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Amateur archers from around the country will gather to compete in the National amateur ice archery championship in the National Park on February 2-3. The National championship is going be organized in the scope of Ulaanbaatar Winter Festival for the fourth year.
 
As one of the unique type of Mongolian traditional archery, the Mongolian Ice Archery Association annually organizes the ice archery championship with aims to promote ice archery to the public, develop this sport and inherit it to next generation and revive tradition.  
 
This year, archers from China and Russia are expected to challenge their vision and accuracy in the championship. So, the championship is expanding its range as international competition.
 
Team and row shootings will be organized in the competion. Also, participants are advised to use bow and arrow made in Mongolia. Arrow weight should be 80gr or above. In the row shooting competition, 20 arrows will be shot from the distance of 40 metres while in the team shooting, a group of 10 archers will shoot from the distance of 40, 30 and 25 metres. 
 
The prize of the competition is MNT 10 million. Additionally, foreign and domestic visitors are able to participate in the event.
