Coins and postage stamps with Olympic medalists to be issued

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa and Deputy Minister G.Ganbayar received Mongolian Olympic medalists of all time led by Secretary General of the Olympic Medalists Association, 1992 Summer Olympics bronze medalist N.Bayarsaikhan on June 18.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Olympic medal received in 1968. Therefore, the Olympic Medalists Association introduced planned works within the framework of the anniversary to the Minister.
Specifically, in order to promote the Olympic Games to the future generations the association plans to issue coins and series of postage stamps with portraits of Olympic medalists, publish books about Olympic and World Championships medalists and coaches, exhibit Olympic medalists’ clothing at the National History Museum, promote it to domestic and foreign tourists.
Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa expressed her readiness to fully support the proposals, saying that the Prime Minister and the Ministry authorities will hold a meeting with the Olympic and World Champions before the Naadam festival.
She also said “It’s time to establish a temporary National council of the Prime Minister. The Sports Law approved last year will take effect next year and sports methodologists will work nationwide. However, it has not started yet. Therefore, I want your support in such works and your proposals likewise.”
