Association for Turkology, Altaistics and Mongolist to be established

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) D.Regdel, PhD and Secretary-General of International Association for Mongolian Studies (IAMS) S.Chuluun and other scholars have attended the third International Humanities Forum, held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Organized by the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) for the third year, the forum brought together over 250 scientists and experts from Azerbaijan, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkey.
During the forum, Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova received President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) D.Regdel.
Moreover, leaders of the International Turkic Academy, the MAS, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Turkic Language Association signed a decision to establish the Association for Turkic, Altaic and Mongolian Studies.
The Association serves to organize international forum, conference and seminars on Turkic and Mongolian studies, exhibitions, book presentations and joint expeditions as well as celebrate historical events. Additionally, the Association will publish a magazine named ‘Altai, Turkic and Mongolian studies’ and operate online portal.
Furthermore, Secretary-General of the IAMS PhD S.Chuluun and President of the International Turkic Academy D.Kydyrali initialed a cooperation memorandum. The documents creates legal grounds for establishing Center for Mongolian Studies at the International Turkic Academy.
In recognition of his contribution to the Turkic studies, President of the MAS D.Regdel was awarded the gold medal of the TWESCO and Secretary-General of IAMS S.Chuluun received a prize named after Danish linguist Vilhelm Tomsen respectively during the forum.
