National fencing team heading to Asian Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The national team of fencers are heading the 18th Asian Games to be held on August 18 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
Before the Asian Games the athletes will participate in 10-day joint training in Imabetsu town of Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The training is organized by Japanese side under the bilateral cooperation.
The fencing team of Mongolia consisting of team coach D.Ganbaatar, coach L.Shinetulga, the 2018 National Champion B.Batkhuu, silver medalist of the 2018 National Championship E.Dulguun, 2017 National Champion E.Bat-Erdene, the 2018 National Champion of team A.Bat-Erdene, five time Champion of Mongolia B.Gerelmaa, the 2017 National Champion B.Amarzaya, silver medalist of the 2018 National Championship G.Khaliunaa, bronze medalist of the National Championship M.Nyamjargal and E.Ariunzaya from Belgium will participate the joint training in Japan and the Asian Games.
President of the Mongolian Fencing Federation G.Dashnyam said “Congratulations and good luck to all athletes who were selected to participate the Asian Games representing the home country. I am confident that the fencing team will achieve even greater success. The federation will work harder to implement the strategic plans until 2020 and provide the athletes with more opportunities.”
Mongolian team is participating the Asian Games for the second time. In 2014, B.Gerelmaa was in top 16 at the 17th Asian Games held in Incheon.
