Four athletes qualify to compete in 2020 Summer Paralympics

March 12, Minister of Education, Culture, Sciences and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg,
received athletes, who qualified to compete in 2020 Summer Paralympics, and authorities
of the National Paralympic Committee of Mongolia.
Congratulating the athletes
on their qualification for the Paralympics, the Minister said that the Ministry intends to take a number of measures to intensify activities of National Olympic
Committee, support athletes to get qualifications, ensure
wide involvement of athletes in the competitions as well as organize joint
training with foreign athletes and coaches.
So far, four athletes have been qualified to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics. However, more Mongolian para
athletes are expected to be qualified; two or three athletes in taekwondo and
three athletes in judo wrestling. Adding to them, athletes of athletics sports who
are now under training in Japan are anticipated to be qualified.
The athletes put forward some requests to the Minister. “Paralympic athletes need special equipment, such as a special-purpose wheelchair which is required to a shooter because ordinary wheelchair does not fit,” they said.
In the end, the Minister wished success to the athletes.
