Mines Up - Total Mongolia International Challenge 2019 kicks off

The opening ceremony of the Mines Up - Total Mongolia International Challenge 2019 took place at the National Sports Center on June 26. Head of the Physical Culture and Sports Policy Department E.Munkhbileg, Secretary of the Mongolian Badminton Association N.Zulbaatar, CEO of the main sponsor of the tournament, Mines Up - Total Mongolia B.Chinzorig and other corresponding officials attended the ceremony.

With a prize pool of USD 25 thousand, over 160 badminton athletes of 24 countries, such as the U.S, Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia, are participating in the six-day international tournament to accumulate points for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Over 10 badminton athletes are representing Mongolia in the preliminary stage.



The tournament champion will get 4,000 points, while the athletes in the 2nd and 3rd places will receive 3,400 and 2,800 points respectively. As for the rest of the athletes in the top 32, they will receive 920 to 2,200 points depending on their achievements.
