Sixth National Children’s Sports Festival to be held next month

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The 6th National Children’s Sports Festival will be held at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Complex in Ulaanbaatar on September 9-15, with aims to prepare and intensify training of the athletes ahead of the Children of Asia International Sports Games 2020 to be hosted in the country.
Over 4500 athletes from the
country’s 21 aimags and the nine districts of Ulaanbaatar have registered to
compete in 36 sports categories; two of them are winter games.
O.Battulga
from Physical Culture and Sports Authority reported, “The main feature of the
national festival is addition of 12 types of sports with a purpose to involve
children with disabilities. With this festival we aim to train athletes of new
generation, who will be able to compete in international, continental and world
competitions and Olympics.”
The festivals for children and universities are organized
once every four years. The 1st Children’s Sports Festival was held in 1999 in
Mongolia.
